Book Review: Glitches by Marissa Meyer

Glitches is a small prequel to Marissa Meyer’s amazing series The Lunar Chronicles. It talks about how Cinder came to live with her adoptive family. It is very helpful in letting you know more about our protagonist and her always faithful sidekick, Iko {I just LOVE Iko}. It’s a small novella about how she ended up with living with Adri, her evil stepmother; what happened to Garan, her mysterious and loving stepfather; and how she, Peony, and Iko became friends. You discover things about her as she is discovering them for herself. It gives you a sense of what is to come, and it will definitely make you want to read Cinder (if for some weird reason you haven’t yet).

The only thing to keep in mind is that Glitches is just an introduction, most of the actions and the emotional situation will happen in the other books Cinder, Scarlet, Cress and the not-yet-released, but I’m-dying-to-read, Winter.

I feel like reading Glitches is very essential to the story, I now understand Adri’s hatred towards Cinder. Not that I sympathize with her, but I understand it more. It’s not just hatred because she’s supposed to be evil. There is real anger ,and a real reason, for her hate towards Cinder, and that makes it all the more real.

So I give Glitches a 4 out of 5, just because I wish it was longer 🙂 Great addition to The Lunar Chronicles! Maybe Marissa Meyer will even write more novellas to go along with the story line!
